XI Workshop on Digital Identity Management (WGID)

Identity Management (IdM) (or Identity and Access Management - IAM) is necessary for federated services, cloud services, and distributed technologies such as blockchain. It is an integrated system of policies, processes, and technologies that allow organizations to handle and manipulate the identities of their users and their devices in authentication, authorization, accounting, and auditing procedures.

IdM is an active research topic that continues to receive attention from service providers, for example, to ensure the protection of the resources they offer, and from users, for example, to ensure their privacy. Research and practices in IdM must often consider conflicting points, such as: usability, robust authentication mechanisms, user privacy and anonymity, security, single authentication, continuous authentication, scalability, fine-grained access control, interoperability, and total cost of ownership.

The 11th WGID aims to be a forum to bring together researchers and stakeholders for discussions and technical presentations of works around the state of the art, methodologies, and technologies related to IdM. In addition, new ideas and work in progress are very welcome, as well as practical experiences, whether positive or negative.

Instructions to Authors

In this edition, XI WGID will accept contributions in two categories:

  • Extended abstracts (up to 4 pages): an abstract can define research challenges results of practical problems, success/failures reporting benefits/trials and lessons learned, experimental studies with empirical evidence, reporting the use of innovative methods, techniques, and tools or vision of the future (technological and scientific) concerning identity management.

  • Short talks (20 minutes): an abstract (up to 2 pages) that presents the proposal for a talk. The talk may be on current theoretical or practical issues related to IdM (see topics of interest).

Abstracts can be written in Portuguese or English; its formatting must follow the SBC's model for publishing article available on the SBC's portal (only the abstract is required). The submission of abstracts will be done exclusively in PDF format, through SBC's JEMS system.

Program committee members will evaluate submitted contributions, and those selected will be organized for presentation during the WGID. Accepted abstracts will not be published in the SBSeg proceedings but will be published on the SBSeg site.

As this edition of the SBSeg/WGID will be online, authors of accepted extended abstracts will need to record a video (up to 10 min) with their presentation. This video will be shown during the technical session on the day of the event, but the author must also be present to answer questions from the WGID audience. Accepted talks must be presented by the author in a live session of up to 20 minutes.
