V Tools Sessions


The SBSeg Tools Session is a meeting forum for developers and researchers interested in the implementation and performance evaluation of systems and tools that contribute to the advancement of knowledge in the area of information security and computer systems.

In the Tools Sessions there is an emphasis on demonstrating new systems and tools, on the experience of their development, on issues of implementation and use, and also on the perspectives created by them.

General Instructions to Authors

The tools should be presented in an article that contains the following information:

Articles can be written in Portuguese or in English; the format must follow the SBC model for publishing articles, available on the SBC portal . Articles are limited to 8 pages, including figures, tables, references and appendices. The submission of articles will be done exclusively in PDF format, through the system SBC JEMS .

All accepted tools must be demonstrated on SBSeg by one of the authors registered for the event.

Specific instructions for the Main Track

The Main Track of the Tools Session has two types of submissions: simplified and normal.

Track specific instructions focusing on jobs using Blockchain as part of the solution

This year, the Tools Session includes a specific trail focused on works that use Blockchain as part of the solution. In addition to the information presented above, the works submitted for this specific track must:

Prize: For this special trail, the most innovative solutions that make proper use of Blockchains to solve a real problem will be awarded a cash prize.

Evaluation of Works

The evaluation will take into account the quality, relevance and innovation of the practical results, the documentation, the submitted article and the proposed demonstration for the Tools Sessions. In this edition, the Tools Session will consist of presentations (including demos) of tools.

An evaluation committee will choose the best among the tools accepted and presented at the event.

The works submitted for the Blockchain trail will also be evaluated by a representative of the company Ripple US. For this reason, it is recommended that the tools, articles and presentations are in English. However, the other members of the evaluation committee will be able to assist in the translation in case of eventual submissions in Portuguese.
